A cheek lift is used to correct sagging cheeks – more commonly called “jowls.”

Incisions are made in either the hairline or behind the ears. The skin is then pulled back and tightened, and the incision is closed. The end result is tighter, more taunt skin.

Cheek lifts do not enhance the size of the cheeks. If you have weak cheeks, a cheek implant is probably a better alternative. Cheek implants tighten loose skin. If you have fatty deposits in your cheeks -- sometimes referred to as “chipmunk cheeks” – the most effective procedure for you is buccal fat pad removal.

Following a cheek lift facial plastic surgery procedure, you can expect some swelling and soreness for a few weeks. After that, you can expect tight, taunt cheeks and a more youthful appearance.
