Comparing VelaShape and Liposuction for Cellulite Reduction

Liposuction

Dr. Haupt has been performing liposuction procedures for over a decade. In order to give his patients a quicker, gentler and safer experience, he uses Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL) for the removal of unwanted fatty tissue. PAL incorporates a powered cannula, a narrow plastic tube, that vibrates through the tissue. Since PAL is not ultrasonic, no heat is generated and healthy tissue is not damaged.

Once the cannula is inserted into the body through an incision, the fatty deposits are liquefied and suctioned out. PAL requires less force than earlier forms of liposuction. This means less pain and discomfort for our patients.

Following the procedure, we will fit you with a snug elastic dressing that you will need to wear for the next several weeks. Following a day of complete rest, most of our patients return to work in two or three days.

VelaShape™

VelaShape is a relatively new technique that uses elos technology to accomplish amazing cellulite reduction results. Elos technology is the combination of radio frequency energy and light energy. That energy is used to heat only the targeted areas and will not harm the surrounding tissue. VelaShape, then, uses elos, vacuum and massage to achieve a dramatic improvement in the look and feel of the skin. Since VelaShape is a non-surgical treatment, there is no recovery time necessary.

Using specially designed massaging rollers and a unique vacuum method, VelaShape smoothes the skin so the heat energy can be applied safely and efficiently. The heat energy of elos increases the metabolism which, in turn, improves lymphatic drainage and shrinks the size of the fat cells and fat chambers. The results are smoother skin, a noticeable reduction in cellulite, as well as an obvious reduction is overall size of the area.
